Dog Escapes using a Trampoline (Apparenty)

June 20th, 2008

Well, what can you say, we have heard some crazy stories about people and their trampolines, but this is a new one on us. Harvey, a three year old Staffordhire Bull Terrier disappeared whilst on his own, un-supervised, in the back garden with the family trampoline (Hmm). We would always recommend supervision when letting any member of your family on the trampoline be it human or otherwise.

Whilst we are sure Harvey does not have the strength to bounce his way out of the garden, especially after being given the reputation for being a bit of escape artist, although he may of used it as a platform, anyway we love this story, and we are glad that the owner Laura Kidson has now been re-united with her pooch.

If you are worried about your kids escaping over the fence, we would really recommend the use of a trampoline safety net on your trampoline, we can supply you with one to fit most sizes. If this has made your kids want a new trampoline, we have an extensive range for you to choose from.

Trampoline Buyers Guide.

April 18th, 2008

Often here at Jump for Fun, we get a phone call from a customer asking if we can spare 5 mins to go through the differences in trampolines on our website and what they should look for in general. With this in mind we have compiled a trampoline buyers guide. The guide is a general overview of what we recommend before purchasing a trampoline. If you use this guide the trampoline you purchase will last for years to come.

Taking a Trampoline Apart.

April 16th, 2008

When it comes to taking your trampoline apart, you should have no problems with a Jump for Fun product. You would not really need to take one down though, unless you were storing it for the winter (which is a good idea) or you are moving house. Jump for Fun trampolines are designed to stay out all year, that is why the steel is galvanised inside and out, to protect from rust.

So, you need to take it down, well, dismantling your trampoline could not be easier, simply undo the brackets that hold the safety net in place, lie the polls on the trampoline jump mat. Proceed to remove the actual netting, also removing the foam inserts. Fold the net up and put all your brackets in a box with the poles.

Release the pad toggles from the top frame of the trampoline and then remove them from the eyelets of your trampoline padding, placing in a box for safe keeping. Fold your trampoline pad in half, then fold again until compact and can be placed in a box.

You are now down to the frame, mat and springs. Start to work your way around the trampoline removing the springs as you go, make sure you have a box to store them in. Once all of the trampoline springs have been removed you can fold over the jump mat, again until it is compact.

Now to take the trampoline frame apart. Stand on the left of a leg section holding a piece of top frame in either hand, pull the top piece of frame out to your left, your right pole will stay connected to the leg, repeat this around the trampoline, you can then just dismantle the rest of the frame sections and you are done.

We hope this advise helps in your dismantling procedure, if you have yet to purchase a trampoline and just needed to get clarification on how take a trampoline apart, why not visit our trampolines page today.

Trampolines, Keeping Up.

April 1st, 2008

From early 2005 trampolines have become the must have lifestyle product for your garden and it seems apparent from these satellite photos that if the neighbour has one, your kids will be nagging you to get one too.

satellite trampolines

These two streets in Edinburgh have 18 trampolines between them.

The trend towards owning a trampoline is still apparent. The main difference when buying a trampoline in the UK in 2005 was the choice and price, you have a huge choice now and the internet shopper has more time to look around and research their product. Whilst relatively young as a brand, Jump for Fun have been active in creating a quality reputation and strive to be as informative as possible in letting you know the facts.

Yes the choice is there, but it can still be a mine field, buy from a trusted brand that carry warranty and spares, a company with experience.

Muller Light Trampoline Advert

March 2nd, 2008

I don’t know if you have seen this advert, but Muller light recently ran a campaign promoting the health factors of their fat free yoghurt. Basically, they have a field full of children and adults of all ages Jumping up and down on Muller Trampolines.

It seems Muller Light have also jumped on the fact that trampolines promote healthy living, Yes, the trampoline is a good way to exercise and have a lot of fun at the same time, we ran a similar advert on Childrens ITV last year, it was great fun to make and was similar to the Muller Light advert.

We showed loads of kids jumping up and down on our different ranges of trampolines, you can see from the advert how much fun they had.

Poor weather for Trampolines

February 22nd, 2008

You will all be aware of the poor weather front lurking over our fine country at the moment, with these high winds comes the potential for damage to your trampoline. We recommend you take due care when a storm or high winds are looming, whilst trampolines do weigh a lot, wind can pick them up from your back garden and cause major damage. Please make sure your trampoline is secured to the ground with an anchor kit we would also recommend taking down your safety net to prevent any of the poles being damaged, it would also be advisable to place your padding in the garage/shed/loft.

The above recommendations also extend to when your trampoline is not in use through the winter months, removing the net and padding over this time will go a long way to extending the life of your product, reducing the need to buy a new padding in the future.

Upgrading your trampoline pads

February 7th, 2008

So, you have finally got through the Christmas and winter chaos, and the weather is starting to clear. Your kids have been pressing you to let them use their trampoline, unfortunately the cold front that came in has caused damage to your PVC trampoline padding. All is not lost, and you may not want to buy a new trampoline. Simple, upgrade your trampoline padding with a new polyester one, they are better than the PVC and all our customers have comment on the difference.

So why not throw out the old and welcome the new, your trampoline will look great, and at pricing from £40 you will not be dissapointed.
