New Trampoline Play Roofs!

Jump For Fun Play RoofWe at Jump For Fun are always trying to think of ways we can improve our already brilliant products, which is often very difficult of course! Also we listen to our customers and their requirements, because without them, we wouldn’t be here today. We have been getting many calls here at Jump For Fun Towers from customers asking for covers to go over the top of the safety netting. This is quite an obvious requirement. It would allow the jumping to go on during light rain; stop the trampoline collecting leaves, debris and worst of all birds mess.

The traditional weather cover which fits
over the trampoline bed works OK, but it is a real fiddle to fit if the truth be known.
So we asked our selves, why has no one made a type of roof before? It became apparent after several prototypes failed miserably. It was very difficult to stop the build up of water on the roof resulting in the roof collapsing under the weight of the collected water. We almost gave up, but we’re glad we didn’t. On the eleventh hour we tried Polycarbonate plastic rods the the roof which were held in place by a metal “spider” in the apex . Using these parts made the roof’s far more expensive than we had imagined, but, hey BINGO ! It now works a treat!

The new Play Roofs apart from keeping the trampoline clean also allows the jumpers to use their favourite toy during the wet weathers.
Starting at just £30 it is a relatively inexpensive accessory which hugely increases the amount of time that the trampoline can be used. Click Here to check them out.

Play Roof - Jump For Fun

Play Roof - Jump For Fun

Although the Play Roof offers protection from the elements the protection is limited in comparison to the new Trampoline Play Den which has sides built in for added protection against the weather. It also make it feel more like a den and camp for imaginative play. Neither product restricts the bounce.

Trampoline Tents and Play Dens

Don’t let the British Summer dampen your fun:

It’s not been the greatest of summers this year has it? A short hot spell around Easter proved to be a false dawn. The BBQ’s and patio furniture came out from under their covers. Just when a few sausages and burgers had been cremated with pink bits left inside them, the sun went back behind the clouds and the wind of course picked up. The covers then went straight back on the BBQ’s and we all went back indoors to grab some socks and Ugg boots. During the one week summer period many children eagerly awaited deliveries of their new trampolines, others dusted down their existing ones and the fun began, for a while at least…

The sun then disappears while the clouds start getting darker and angrier looking until it seems the heavens have opened. Children without a care in the world bless them, might think bouncing in the rain is great fun but it could all end in tears when they slip on the wet jump mat and then its summer holidays in a cast!

Of course it didn’t rain every day this summer, but it did stop the children enjoying being outside on their trampolines for a lot of the time. Every time it rained the trampoline could not be used and everyone had to stay indoors annoying Mum and Dad with the guaranteed: “I’m bored what can I doooo??”

Well Mum and Dad could have considered purchasing a tent purposely made to fit on the trampoline. The rain would not be able to stop the fun this time! Also it can add a whole new dimension of play. The trampoline becomes a den, a camp, somewhere for sleep overs even. The cheapest bedroom extension you can ever have, with windows and all!

There are two types of trampoline tents. The design which has been around the longest is basically like a retractable dome. This means the tent can be pulled down when the weather is good and at the first sign of rain it can be pulled up and over, it works a bit like an old fashioned pram hood. The only down side with this design is that if you have a trampoline with enclosure then this tent will not work and would require you to take the enclosure up and down when the tent was in use.

Trampoline Tent for a round trampoline

Jump For Fun is bringing a new design of trampoline tent out this year and calling it a trampoline play den. The safety enclosure doesn’t have to be removed and the den fits over the top. This makes fitting quite a bit quicker plus you still have the safety element in place with the enclosure remaining to do its job. They have a large pair of tie back doors so that busy parents can keep any eye on the little ones whilst they’re busy playing and bouncing for hours.

Trampoline Play Den and Tent | Jump For Fun

If you add a trampoline tent or play den you can have garden fun nearly all year round.

Jumping on the Trampoline is good for us.

We all know that exercise is good for us but it can be boring.

Here’s how to make it fun.

Have you got a trampoline in the garden but it is used by the children. Why not give it a try?

Did you know?

  • Exercising on a trampoline can increase the metabolism, causing the body to burn more calories. It one of the Top 10 calorie burners.
  • It can also lower a person’s cholesterol and triglyceride (type of fat) levels which can lead to a reduction of stress and tension and lower your cholesterol level.
  • The aerobics associated with jumping on a trampoline strengthens the heart in the same way as other cardio exercises such as running. You might expect this to be a high impact sport however it is low impact as the period of acceleration and deceleration is much longer than with activities such as jogging where the surface used has no give at all.
  • Exercising on a trampoline has actually been proven to be more effective than jogging when used correctly and routinely.
  • Trampolining conditions and strengthens the heart over time, causing the heart to beat less often thus leading to a stronger surge of blood throughout the veins.
  • Spending ten minutes exercising on a trampoline is like running a mile.
  • As jumping on a trampoline exercises most parts of your body such as legs, thighs, hips and stomach it is a great way to work out.
  • It can strengthen your glandular system which increases the capabilities of the thyroid gland helping to fight fatigue.
  • It has also been proven to help joint and pain relief due to the natural analgesic effect this type of exercise has on your body.
  • It has also been proven through studies that people who are exercise on a trampoline at least three times a week have a higher bone mineral count. Bouncing on a trampoline puts your bones under small amounts of stress which helps to build them up therefore improving your bone density. This also reduces the chance of fractures and osteoporosis.
  • It improves lymphatic circulation which is probably not quite as good as detoxing entirely but the short periods of weightlessness between periods of higher than average G forces that occur whilst bouncing actually helps the body get rid of toxins; physical activity and gravity effects are essential to the lymphatic system achieving this and both are more actively engaged when trampolining than with almost any other sport.
  • A great exercise for strengthening your pelvic floor too.

It is always safest to start of gently with any exercise and build up gradually over time.  Also if you have any restrictive medical conditions you should always check with your doctor it is OK before starting any form of exercise.

So let’s bounce ourselves to a new healthier lifestyle.
